Detailed Changes
⭐ High Impact Updates
These updates provide the greatest day-to-day impact for OSPs and enterprise users using the BCID platform.
1. Automatic Logo Conversion & Cropping Tool
Summary: Uploading logos is becoming much easier by allowing the platform to automatically convert and prepare images for BCID requirements.
Previously, logos had to be uploaded in a very specific format:
- BMP format
- 256 × 256 pixels
- 32-bit depth
Finding or creating a logo that met all of these requirements often required using third-party image editing tools.
With this enhancement, users will be able to upload common image formats such as PNG or JPG, and the platform will automatically convert them to the required BCID format.
If the logo dimensions need adjustment, the platform will provide three options:
- Stretch Image
- Auto Crop
- Manual Crop
Each option includes a preview before the logo is saved, allowing users to choose the result that best fits their branding.
Why this matters:
Preparing logos for BCID becomes significantly easier, reducing submission errors and helping ensure logos display correctly during branded calls.
🔹 Additional Improvements
These updates improve platform usability and prepare the foundation for future BCID enhancements.
2. Digital LOA Submission Experience (Spike Completed)
Summary: We completed the investigation and design work for a future digital LOA experience within the BCID portal.
Today, users must:
- Download the LOA template
- Complete it outside the platform
- Sign it
- Save the file
- Upload it back into Step 7
This process can increase onboarding time and create opportunities for mistakes.
During this sprint, we completed the technical investigation for a future experience that will allow users to complete and electronically sign the LOA directly inside the BCID portal.
Why this matters:
This future enhancement will simplify Step 7, reduce manual work, and create a smoother onboarding experience.
3. Appeal of Vet – New 10 Business Day Submission Window
Summary: We introduced new business rules to better manage rejected BCID applications and Appeal of Vet submissions.
When a BCID application is rejected, OSPs and enterprise users will have 10 business days to submit an Appeal of Vet.
If the application is resubmitted within that timeframe:
- It will continue through the Appeal of Vet process.
- Only the rejected portions of the application will require additional review.
If the 10-business-day window expires:
- The original BCID application can no longer be used.
- The associated EID will be removed from the BCID ecosystem.
- A new BCID application must be submitted.
- A new EID will be generated.
- The standard initial vetting process will apply.
Why this matters:
This creates a clearer and more predictable process for rejected applications while ensuring application information remains current.
4. Internal Platform Quality Improvements
Summary: We completed several internal improvements focused on strengthening the platform foundation.
These updates improve maintainability, reliability, and overall platform readiness for future BCID enhancements.
Although these improvements are not directly visible within the portal, they help ensure we continue delivering new features on a stable and scalable platform.
Why this matters:
Continuous platform improvements help us deliver new functionality more efficiently while maintaining a reliable experience for all users.
Why It Matters to You
This sprint delivers improvements that help:
- Simplify logo uploads and reduce formatting issues
- Create a smoother BCID onboarding experience
- Provide a clearer process for rejected applications
- Lay the groundwork for a future digital LOA experience
- Continue improving overall platform reliability and scalability
